Who Is Arran Wend?

The King and the Fire Chanter was written by a family. Arran Wend is the pen name of three co-authors: a teenage boy who was thirteen when the book was begun and is currently a high school student residing near San Diego, California; his mother, a brilliant imagineer; and his step-father, a historical linguist who invented two languages for the book complete with grammar, syntax and etymologies. Each member of this family team made unique contributions to the crafting of the story, and the final result of their collaboration can truly be said to be a whole greater than the sum of its parts.

What started out as a family project is sure to end up a much-loved part of children’s literature.
